Hungary is set to host a major international sporting event as the FISU World University Championship Canoeing takes place from August 17 to 20 at the Katalin Kovács National Kayak Canoe Academy in Sukoró. Obuda University is actively supporting the organization of this prestigious competition, which will bring together top university athletes from around the world.The event is being organized in cooperation with the Hungarian University Sports Federation and the Hungarian Canoe Federation, with additional support from the Municipality of Székesfehérvár. Representatives emphasized that beyond sports, the championship will also highlight cultural and educational programs, creating a well-rounded international experience.University officials noted that such global events not only enhance student engagement in sports but also contribute to regional development and international visibility. The championship is expected to strengthen Hungary’s position as a host of world-class university sporting events.
