Postdoctoral researcher Antonio Piolanti at the University of Klagenfurt will investigate how rising temperatures linked to climate change may affect family violence, including violence against women and child maltreatment.Supported by both a MSCA Global Postdoctoral Fellowship and an Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship, the project will use data from around 130 million people in Brazil to analyze links between extreme heat, social conditions, and violent behavior. The study aims to identify vulnerable groups and inform policies for preventing climate-related family violence.
