The first steel framework components for the new Graz Center of Physics have been delivered and installed. A total of 64 large steel structures, each up to 30 meters long and 8 tons heavy, will be assembled by May 2026. The construction provides structural stability and allows all five lecture halls to be built without internal columns. Production and transport involve 1,500 man-hours per element and 34 special night transports from Eis, Carinthia. The building’s shell is expected by the end of the year, with the roof completion planned for early next year. Official opening is set for 2030.
