The orchestra at the University of Gothenburg, previously known as the University of Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, has returned to its original name, Swedish National Orchestra Academy. The name change highlights the professional training environment for future orchestral musicians. Students in the master program in symphonic orchestral performance and the bachelor program in classical music gain hands-on experience working with established conductors, soloists, and orchestras such as the Gothenburg Symphony and Gothenburg Opera Orchestra. The announcement was marked during a concert at the Gothenburg Concert Hall on 2026.
