Professor Pär Ågerfalk at Uppsala University warns that many Swedish organizations may fail to realize the full potential of artificial intelligence (AI). While pilot projects show that AI technology works, it is rarely integrated into core business processes, limiting real impact on productivity and results.
Ågerfalk highlights challenges such as lack of organizational responsibility, structure, and decision-making power, as well as “efficiency shame,” where employees feel uncomfortable using AI to work faster. He emphasizes the need for regulatory sandboxes, shared infrastructure, and a focus on practical implementation to ensure AI contributes effectively and ethically to organizational operations.
