Denmark | Researchers from the University of Copenhagen have developed a new nine item scale that measures behaviors linked to positive mental health. The tool helps researchers and public health organizations better understand how everyday actions influence well being. The scale is based on the Act Belong Commit framework, which encourages people to stay active, build social connections, and engage in meaningful activities. It was tested using data from more than 120,000 adults in Denmark.According to the study, people who regularly engage in all three types of mental health promoting behaviors are about 2.5 times more likely to report good mental health compared to those who participate in only one type.Researchers say the scale is designed for scientific research and large population studies rather than individual assessment. The tool may help evaluate mental health initiatives and support future public health strategies.
