Næstved, August 2025 — This September, 26-year-old Nichlas will embark on a new academic chapter as he begins his studies in Computer Science (Datamatiker) at the Zealand Institute of Business and Technology’s Næstved campus.
Nichlas’s interest in programming began at the age of 13, when he started creating websites on his own. Since then, he has explored a wide range of programming languages and technologies, describing himself as someone who enjoys diving deep into new tools and figuring out how they work.
Though self-taught and highly motivated, Nichlas now looks forward to adding structure to his learning and gaining clearer direction within the field. His career interests span from game development to software solutions, and he hopes the academic environment will introduce him to new opportunities he has yet to consider.
Diagnosed with ADHD, Nichlas acknowledges the challenges of staying focused, but credits this condition with giving him a broad exposure to various aspects of programming. This diverse experience has enhanced both his curiosity and determination to succeed.
He is also excited to start the program alongside a close friend, offering him both social and academic support as he transitions into student life. “Starting with someone I know makes a big difference. It means I’m not alone, and I’ll always have someone to collaborate with,” he says.
“I’m looking forward to being challenged academically and to learning new things. I’ve missed that feeling of learning something valuable and moving closer to my dream,” Nichlas concludes.
