Dublin City University (DCU) recognised 185 students receiving Sport Scholarships at a dedicated event. The athlete-led programme supports students based on their achievement, potential, and individual needs, combining elite sport with higher education.Since its launch in 1996 with GAA scholarships, the programme has expanded to sports including Athletics, Hockey, Rugby, and Soccer. DCU is fully accredited by the Sport Ireland Institute for its dual-career support.James Galvin, DCU Director of Sport, highlighted the university’s commitment to empowering students to achieve their full potential in sport and education, reinforcing a whole-person approach. The scholarships are supported by sponsors including Azets Ireland, Fidelity Investments Ireland, Londis/BWG, Britvic, and philanthropic donors through DCU’s Educational Trust.Applications for 2026 Sport Scholarships
