Technical University of Denmark postdocs Sina Jafarzadeh and Adem R. N. Aouichaoui from DTU Energy are among 19 researchers awarded international postdoc grants by the Danish Council for Independent Research. The grants, totaling over 40 million DKK, provide early-career researchers with the opportunity to conduct independent research at institutions abroad and enhance their expertise.Sina Jafarzadeh receives 2.2 million DKK for the project SHARP: Shape morphing Adaptive Reconfigurable Platforms, aiming to develop wireless, reprogrammable metamaterials that adapt to magnetic and mechanical stimuli, potentially reducing material consumption in mechanical structures and supporting sustainable technological development.Adem R. N. Aouichaoui also receives 2.2 million DKK for apexOMC: Accelerated Polymorph EXploration of Organic Molecular Crystals, which uses AI models and search algorithms to predict molecular crystal formations. The research seeks to identify stable structures and properties such as solubility and conductivity, benefiting robust pharmaceuticals, organic semiconductors, and energy materials. These grants highlight DTU’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of research talent and advancing sustainable and high-impact technologies.
