
The Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) Agricultural Biotechnology Scientific Committee held its traditional forum at the Magyar Agrár- és Élettudományi Egyetem Szent István Campus. The event showcased cutting-edge research in animal biotechnology, toxicology, plant and animal genomics, gene editing, and sustainable farming, emphasizing strong collaboration between academia and university research.Opening the forum, Gócza Elen, corresponding member of the MTA and MATE Genetics and Biotechnology Institute, presented the Committee’s 2025 achievements. Experts from HUN-REN, Debrecen University, Szeged University, and the Medicinal Plant Research Institute shared innovations in photosynthesis, fusarium resistance, microalgae-based wastewater treatment, and biostimulants.The forum highlighted that beyond a scientific conference, it serves as a platform for building collaborations, fostering the next generation of researchers, and promoting the societal and economic application of academic research in Hungarian agricultural biotechnology.
