More than 500 first-year students started one of the most exciting chapters of their lives at the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE) freshman camp in Kaposvár. At the opening ceremony, Rector Dr. Csaba Gyuricza highlighted that being a MATE student is a mission, emphasizing both academic excellence and the formation of lifelong relationships.
The combined freshman camp, hosted for the third time, was organized by nearly 170 senior students. Martin Kiss, president of the University Student Government, welcomed the freshmen on their behalf, encouraging them to embrace the spirit of MATE and form lasting friendships.
Deputy Mayor of Kaposvár, Tímea Kárpáti, also addressed the students, urging them to explore the city and actively participate in community life. The freshman camp combines fun with community building through team games, sporting events, and engaging programs over several days.
