Széchenyi István University has unveiled significant developments in its MedTech Health Technology Campus, strengthening its role in education, research, and regional healthcare services. The campus, located in Győr, is being developed into a multidisciplinary hub combining health sciences, sports science, and advanced technologies. Originally a hospital site, the area has been under the university’s management since 2021.The first phase of the project has already been completed, featuring the Q building with integrated healthcare services, including specialist care, psychological support, and research laboratories. The second phase is currently underway, with new academic and research facilities expected to be finished by early 2027.Future plans include the establishment of a modern elderly care center, a conference and community space, and a complex sports and health diagnostics facility.A key aspect of the development is the university’s collaboration with Petz Aladár University Teaching Hospital, which has led to innovations such as telerehabilitation systems and advanced diagnostic tools. The use of the Da Vinci Surgical System has also enabled hundreds of successful surgeries, enhancing both patient care and medical training.Through this initiative, the university aims to create an integrated ecosystem that connects education, research, and healthcare, contributing to innovation and improved quality of life in the region.
