Researchers from Charles University have contributed to a major international study suggesting that scientific results are more reliable than previously believed.Published in Nature, the research analyzed 110 studies in economics and political science. It found that over 85 percent of results could be successfully reproduced using the original data and code. However, the study also revealed that results are less stable when different valid analytical methods are applied, highlighting challenges in robustness. Around one quarter of studies also contained coding or analytical errors. The findings challenge the widely discussed “replication crisis” and emphasize the importance of transparency, data sharing, and rigorous research practices to strengthen trust in science.
