The innovation agency JIC, co-founded by Brno University of Technology, the South Moravian Region, the city of Brno, and four local universities, officially launched the JIC Ventures venture capital fund. The fund, with a budget of 400 million CZK, will invest in early-stage technology startups from the Czech Republic and Central Europe, aiming to strengthen the regional knowledge economy and promote innovation-driven growth.The official launch event in Brno was attended by Czech President Petr Pavel, investors, and representatives from innovation centers nationwide. Private capital makes up the majority of the fund, with contributions from leading companies and successful founders, while public institutions provide strategic support. The initiative focuses on investment rather than loans, creating a strong ecosystem for deep tech, SaaS, and other advanced technology startups to grow and scale globally.
