
Belgium | The Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) has announced the launch of a new dentistry programme starting in the 2027–2028 academic year to address the shortage of Dutch-speaking dentists in Flanders and Brussels.The initiative aims to strengthen healthcare education and clinical training while responding to growing demand for dental professionals. The programme will focus on early patient contact, advanced simulation training, and interdisciplinary learning in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy and the university hospital UZ Brussel.According to VUB leadership, the programme represents a strategic effort to improve access to dental care and support long-term healthcare sustainability in the region.
