An international student shared an experience of being briefly stopped at Schengen border control after being flagged in the system as a possible overstayer. The student said officers took them aside, checked their travel details, and released them within minutes, later suggesting it may have been a system error.
The incident has raised concern among other EU-based international students who often travel across borders, with many saying even small immigration record issues can create stress about visas and future travel.
Several students online added that similar situations have happened to them due to database or scanning errors, emphasizing the importance of keeping travel documents and entry/exit records organized in case of future checks.
