
Blekinge Tekniska Högskola (BTH) welcomed a delegation from the French Embassy in Stockholm on 2026 to discuss potential research collaborations. The delegation was led by Ambassador Thierry Carlier and included science and academic cooperation attaché Yan Pautrat.The visit followed earlier meetings with defense company Saab and focused on opportunities in marine technology, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and education. Discussions highlighted BTH’s ongoing research in maritime AI applications, intelligent sensor technology, and autonomous platforms—areas considered strategically important for both defense and dual-use technologies.University representatives presented selected research projects and introduced the European university alliance BAUHAUS4EU, outlining possibilities for expanded international cooperation. The program also included a campus tour featuring the Innovation Labs, the Research and Education Clinic, and Ericsson Space.The meeting concluded with a shared ambition to strengthen bilateral collaboration between France and Sweden, particularly in marine-related research and emerging technologies.
