
Photographer Libuše Jarcovjáková, head of the Photography Studio at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art, shared insights about documentary photography and teaching in a new episode of the university podcast UniverZ. Known for her raw images of Prague during the normalization era, she encourages students to photograph ordinary moments, noting that everyday life quickly becomes history.Jarcovjáková also discussed her documentary film I’m Not Who I Want to Be Yet and its promotional campaign in the United States. Although the film did not advance to the final round of the Oscars, the experience highlighted the competitive and financially driven nature of the international film industry. At the university, she promotes creative freedom and intuition in photography, giving students open assignments to explore their own themes.
