Leoben – The Technical University of Leoben (Montanuniversität Leoben) and global technology leader AT&S Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik AG are deepening their longstanding collaboration to develop groundbreaking technologies in the field of microelectronics. Their expanded partnership aims to deliver innovative solutions that address global challenges such as digital transformation, climate change, and resource efficiency.
Building on previous successful projects, the two Styrian institutions will now work more closely on advanced research in sustainable production processes, new materials for microelectronics, and efficient resource use in PCB manufacturing. This collaboration brings together TU Leoben’s academic excellence and AT&S’s global industry expertise.
“We can only overcome major social and technological challenges through strong cooperation between research and industry,” said Rector Peter Moser of TU Leoben. AT&S CEO Michael Mertin emphasized the importance of knowledge transfer, stating, “Together, we create forward-looking projects that strengthen the economy, science, and society.”
The partnership is expected to have a strong regional and international impact, positioning Leoben as a hub for high-tech research, creating skilled jobs, and boosting Austria’s global innovation standing.
