The National French Language Study Competition, organized by the Eötvös József Practical Elementary School and High School of the University of Nyíregyháza, saw a record number of entries this year. A total of 1,003 students from 74 institutions participated across six categories in the jubilee school year.
The first round, held online on February 17, provided immediate feedback to participants on their results. A highlight of the event was the visit of Hugues Denisot, former educational cooperation attaché of the French Institute in Budapest and author of the Les Loustics French books, who personally encouraged students and met with faculty.
Top-performing students in grades 7–10 will advance to the second round, scheduled for March 24, 2026. Organizers praised the dedication of teachers, particularly Ildikó Molnárné Kiss, for developing the online interface and supporting the smooth execution of the competition.
