Denmark | New research from Aalborg University shows that arts and cultural activities can help vulnerable young people develop confidence, build meaningful relationships, and gain a stronger sense of direction in life. The study followed young people participating in programs run by Aspiranterne, where they engaged in creative activities such as music, film, and visual arts. Researchers found that these activities created opportunities for participants to explore new roles, connect with others, and recognize their own strengths.According to the researchers, many young people outside education and employment are often viewed only through what they lack, while their talents and creative abilities remain overlooked. Cultural projects helped participants feel a sense of belonging and imagine new possibilities for their future. The study highlights that long term support, strong communities, and opportunities for creative expression can play an important role in helping vulnerable youth move toward education, employment, and a more stable life.
