The Technical University of Denmark has strengthened its Arctic DTU initiative by appointing two leaders with extensive experience in Greenland. Arctic DTU, based in both Sisimiut, Greenland, and DTU Lyngby Campus, focuses on research, education, innovation, and research-based advisory services in the Arctic region. From October 1, Mie Hylstofte Sichlau Winding will become Chief Arctic Officer, responsible for Arctic DTU’s strategy. She previously led Greenland’s Climate Research Centre and holds a PhD from DTU. From September 1, Tanja Nielsen will take on the role of Chief Officer Arctic Campus, overseeing staff and operations at Campus Sisimiut. She brings experience from leadership roles including director at Det Grønlandske Hus in Aarhus and environmental management in Greenland’s mining sector. The new organization aims to enhance strategic goals, foster innovation, and strengthen cooperation across DTU’s Arctic activities.
