The Academic Senate of Ostrava University’s Faculty of Arts has proposed Docent Anna Pumprová, head of the Department of Latin Language and Culture, as the new dean. Pumprová received 11 of 15 votes in a secret ballot and would become the first female dean in 16 years. The appointment is pending confirmation by the university rector. She is set to begin her four-year term on July 1, 2026.
