The Hungarian University of Fine Arts has introduced a new elective course titled “Material-Based Art Practice: Found Objects and Transformation.” The course is taught by internationally recognized contemporary artist Patrick Tagoe‑Turkson, who is serving as a guest professor of the Ludwig Foundation. The 30-hour studio course, offered by the university’s Department of Visual Arts, allows students to explore creative processes using found materials from their environment. Through practical exercises and experimental projects, participants learn how to transform everyday objects and discarded materials into artworks while developing innovative artistic methods. The program emphasizes sustainability, upcycling, and material awareness, encouraging students to experiment with unconventional artistic approaches and challenge traditional creative boundaries. By the end of the course, students are expected to develop their own artistic processes that combine technical knowledge with creative problem-solving in contemporary art contexts.
