Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan has launched Mirabilium Collectio, a new digital platform designed to preserve and share rare and valuable materials from its University Library.Developed over two years, the platform goes beyond a traditional digital library by combining multiple functions, including a historical geoportal, provenance tracking, bibliographic resources, and detailed metadata for each item. The project aims to provide deeper context for historical collections, allowing researchers and users to explore not only digital scans but also the history, ownership, and cultural significance of each object. The platform already features an extensive collection, including manuscripts, early printed books, historical maps, postcards, musical works, and social documents related to Polish history.University officials emphasized that the initiative supports the preservation of cultural heritage while making it accessible to a wider audience through modern digital tools.
