An educator from Eszterhazy Karoly Catholic University took part in the Fifth EdTech Summit Hungary, highlighting the role of artificial intelligence in modern education. Dr Robert Nagy, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Digital Technology, delivered a presentation titled Artificial Intelligence As A Pedagogical Assistant. The conference, held at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, brought together leading experts to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming teaching practices and learning environments.During his presentation, Dr Nagy emphasized that artificial intelligence becomes truly effective only when educators clearly define its role in the learning process. He noted that while AI can support teachers by handling time consuming routine tasks, the responsibility for interpreting content, ensuring accuracy, and integrating it into teaching remains with the educator. The discussion highlighted the growing importance of combining technological tools with pedagogical expertise, reinforcing the idea that AI should enhance rather than replace the role of teachers in education.
