Students from Brussels School of Governance gained first-hand experience of European policymaking during a study visit to the European Parliament on March 26, 2026.The group, enrolled in the BA in International and European Law programme, explored how the Parliament operates, including its structure, legislative processes, and the role of parliamentary committees in shaping EU policies. The visit was led by programme director Kristin Henrard.A key highlight was the tour of the hemicycle, where Members of the European Parliament debate and vote on major issues affecting millions of citizens across the European Union. Students also learned about the multilingual environment of the institution, including the importance of interpretation and translation services in ensuring effective communication.The experience allowed students to connect their academic knowledge with real-world governance, offering valuable insight into how large-scale political decisions are made within the EU.Participants described the visit as both inspiring and educational, emphasizing its role in deepening their understanding of European democracy and institutional processes.
