The Széchenyi István University has awarded prestigious scholarships to more than 50 outstanding students, recognizing both academic excellence and athletic achievement.A total of 20 students received the Student Scholarship, while 32 were honored with the Elite Athlete Scholarship. These awards, established jointly by the university and its foundation, aim to support talented young individuals in continuing their academic and professional journeys.University leaders emphasized that the initiative not only rewards academic success but also highlights the importance of balancing education with extracurricular excellence, particularly in sports. Recipients were selected based on their strong academic performance, involvement in research or student activities, and, for athletes, exceptional results in their respective sports.The awardees came from various regions across Hungary and beyond, reflecting the university’s growing national and international reach. Officials noted that many of the elite athlete scholars represent a wide range of sports, showcasing the diversity and strength of the institution’s sporting culture.Speakers at the ceremony highlighted that combining academic and athletic excellence helps students develop discipline, resilience, and goal-setting skills—qualities essential for both university life and future careers.
