Mozarteum University Salzburg will host the Erika Frieser Chamber Music Days 2026 from 7 to 9 May, celebrating female composers and lesser known works beyond the traditional classical canon.Founded by pianist Biliana Tzinlikova, the festival has become a platform for creative exploration and collaboration among students, faculty, and guest performers. It is dedicated to Erika Frieser, the first female professor of piano chamber music at the university. The three day event will feature three themed concerts titled Duo, Trio, and Quartet Plus. These performances will present a wide range of chamber music, including works by composers such as Nadia Boulanger and Amy Beach, blending historical and contemporary styles. The festival aims to highlight underrepresented composers, especially women, while encouraging new perspectives in classical music. It also creates a space where audiences and performers can engage with rarely performed repertoire.
