The Brno University of Technology officially launched the third Czech edition of the globally recognized textbook HRW Physics at its Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Brno on 9 April 2026.The textbook, originally developed by David Halliday, Robert Resnick, and Jearl Walker, has long been a cornerstone of physics education at technical universities worldwide. The newly released edition reflects modern teaching approaches, featuring structured learning modules, clearly defined objectives, and detailed problem-solving examples.As part of the event, Jiří Podolský from Charles University delivered a lecture titled Ten Years with Gravitational Waves, highlighting one of the most significant discoveries in modern physics and the role of advanced engineering in detecting them.The Czech translation and long-standing development of the textbook have been led by Petr Dub, whose work has contributed to improving physics education across both universities and secondary schools.The event offered students and the academic community an opportunity to engage with experts, explore the updated publication, and gain deeper insights into contemporary physics education.
