
Poland | The Gdansk University of Technology has announced a major modernization project of Student Dormitory No. 7 (DS7), which will provide 184 places for students and doctoral candidates after renovation.The project is supported by nearly 28 million PLN in funding and aims to significantly improve living standards, accessibility, and comfort for residents. The renovation includes a full internal and external reconstruction of the building, with completion planned for September 2029.Each room will be redesigned with modern facilities including private kitchenettes and bathrooms, raising the standard of student accommodation. Shared spaces will also be upgraded, including study rooms, kitchens on every floor, and recreational areas such as a gym and laundry facilities.Accessibility improvements are a key part of the project, including the installation of a new elevator, ramps for people with disabilities, and redesigned entryways. The building will also receive updated safety systems and improved insulation.University leadership emphasized that student housing is a key part of academic life and community development, and the investment reflects long-term commitment to improving student living conditions.
