A student currently undergoing MEIR (Multi-Engine Instrument Rating) training has shared a request online, asking for more engaging and complex instrument procedures to practice in the simulator.
The student said they are growing bored of standard 3-degree straight-in approaches and are looking for more interesting Standard Instrument Departures (SIDs) and approach procedures to improve their skills. They expressed interest in exploring more challenging scenarios that better reflect real-world instrument flying conditions.
The post highlights a common experience among trainees, where repetitive simulator routines can feel less effective over time. Many in training often seek varied procedures and complex approaches to build confidence and prepare for real operational environments.
