Sweden | A significant technical issue is currently disrupting email communications for university students who redirect their institutional accounts to Microsoft-hosted personal email services. The delivery failure impacts incoming messages sent from domains outside the university network to personal addresses registered under platforms like Outlook, Hotmail, MSN, and Live.University IT Services revealed that the disruption stems from recent systemic configuration adjustments implemented by Microsoft. These newly updated settings block incoming mail from various external platforms that the system flags as bulk senders. Consequently, critical automated student communications, including notifications from the Athena learning management platform and institutional newsletters, are frequently failing to reach their intended recipients. The IT department is actively working to resolve the issue and establish stable communication lines. In the interim, administrators urge students who suspect they have missed vital academic updates to submit a formal report through the institutional service portal, providing specific details regarding missing senders and expected arrival times to assist technical teams in troubleshooting the delivery barriers.
