Sweden | A new DKK 11 million project is developing a handheld device that uses nanosensors to catch dangerous, antibiotic-resistant bacteria within minutes. By capturing the unique chemical signals that bacteria send out at the very start of an infection from a single drop of blood, saliva, or urine, the tool provides immediate results.Instead of waiting days for lab cultures, doctors can instantly identify pathogens causing critical conditions like sepsis. This rapid turnaround allows medical staff to prescribe targeted, individual treatments immediately, saving lives and helping to stop the rise of global drug resistance.
