Belgium | A new collaborative initiative in Belgium is set to strengthen mental health care through data-driven insights. The iPSYcare database, launched by psychiatric hospitals across Antwerp Province, the University of Antwerp, and spin-off company NSX, will securely combine and analyze existing healthcare data to improve treatment outcomes and support research. The project brings together data from five psychiatric hospitals, allowing healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers to better understand care pathways, identify challenges, monitor patient outcomes, and evaluate healthcare policies. Importantly, all information is processed in a secure and non-identifiable manner, ensuring patient privacy. The partners behind iPSYcare believe the platform will help create a more proactive, efficient, and equitable mental healthcare system. The database is also expected to accelerate scientific research on mental health conditions and treatment approaches while reducing the need for additional administrative work.
