The Polytechnic Institute of Braganca is currently hosting the Futsal World Cup 2026, bringing together more than 300 student athletes in a vibrant international tournament. Organized by the African Students Association in Braganca in partnership with the institute’s Sports and Wellbeing Office, the competition will run until May 25.A total of 323 athletes from 12 different nationalities are participating, forming 19 teams including 14 men’s and 5 women’s squads. The event highlights cultural diversity and aims to promote student integration and social inclusion within the academic community and the city of Braganca.The opening ceremony took place on April 9 at the IPB sports complex, featuring a parade of teams and speeches from institutional representatives. The event concluded with an افتتاح match between Guinea Bissau and Angola, setting an energetic tone for the tournament.Matches are being held throughout the week at IPB facilities, with additional games scheduled at the Municipal Pavilion. Beyond competition, the tournament involves strong student engagement, supported by around 120 volunteers helping to organize daily activities.The IPB Futsal World Cup 2026 stands out not only as a sporting event but also as a celebration of cultural exchange, teamwork, and community spirit among students.
