Kateřina Pavlů, a student at the Technical University of Liberec, has been awarded Athlete of the Year 2025 after an exceptional season in biathlon.The third-year student, studying physical education and natural sciences, achieved major international success by winning gold at the Junior European Championships in Altenberg in the mass start event. She also secured a bronze medal in mixed relay, confirming her status as one of the top young biathletes in Europe.The award was presented by Rector Aleš Kocourek during the university’s annual sports gala. Pavlů was recognized not only for her athletic performance but also for successfully balancing elite sport with academic responsibilities.In interviews, Pavlů emphasized discipline, time management, and mental focus as key factors behind her success. She highlighted that combining studies and high-level sport is challenging but achievable with strong motivation and support from the university.Looking ahead, she aims to continue improving both physically and mentally while maintaining consistent performances. Alongside her sporting ambitions, she plans to pursue a future in education, using her experience to inspire others.
