Nyíregyházi Egyetem participated in the National Tree-Planting Day for the second time. Four new trees were planted in the small forest next to the campus sports fields, with the collaboration of students, faculty, and civil partners. The initiative, organized by the 10 Million Trees Foundation, aims to encourage environmental responsibility and community involvement. The selected tree species—two silver lindens and two red-leafed ashes—are drought-resistant, urban-adapted, and disease-resistant. Students also participate in the post-planting care, ensuring long-term sustainability. The campaign, first launched in 2025, already engaged around 6,500 volunteers across more than 100 towns in three countries, planting nearly 94,000 trees.
