Dr Eng Marcin Wekwejt from the Department of Biomaterials at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology, Gdansk University of Technology, has been appointed Program Coordinator of the Orthopaedic Biomaterials Special Interest Group within the prestigious Society For Biomaterials. This global association brings together experts in biomaterials engineering to advance technologies and materials used in orthopaedic surgery.
In his new role, Dr Wekwejt will oversee program activities, set strategic development directions, and support scientific and networking initiatives. His research focuses on composite materials for bone tissue regeneration, particularly innovative bone cements. This appointment reflects the university’s active role in shaping the global future of biomaterials research.
