The University of Miskolc has been awarded the University of the Year 2026 title in the Family Friendly category recognizing its strong commitment to supporting students balancing studies work and family life. The award also includes a financial prize which will be used for student focused initiatives.The institution stood out for its flexible academic structure personalized study options and comprehensive social support systems. Special attention is given to students with families through tailored administration mentoring opportunities and inclusive community programs that also welcome family members.Facilities such as baby care rooms a renewed nursery and various equality support measures further highlight the university’s family friendly approach. These efforts aim to create an inclusive environment where students can successfully manage both academic and personal responsibilities.The award ceremony took place at the Royal Palace of Godollo where university leadership and student representatives were present. Rector Professor Zita Horvath expressed pride in the recognition noting that it reflects the university’s continuous efforts to improve student life.The University of the Year awards featured 12 categories celebrating excellence across Hungarian higher education including innovation sustainability culture and student wellbeing. The recognition reinforces the University of Miskolc’s role as a supportive and student centered institution.
