The Arctic Ocean 2025 expedition, led by Stockholm University’s Department of Meteorology, continues aboard the icebreaker Oden. Researchers, including 18 international PhD students, are mapping the seabed, collecting sediment cores, and studying the effects of a persistent Beaufort Sea cyclone. Despite challenging weather and strong winds, students conduct fieldwork and weather balloon launches, combining practical research with lectures under the guidance of Professor Emeritus Michael Tjernström.
