Hungary | Driven by social media trends, many teenagers are adopting complex adult skincare routines that can damage healthy skin. Because young skin is still developing, it is highly sensitive. Using potent active ingredients or heavy moisturizers unnecessarily often leads to dryness, irritation, inflammation around the mouth, and allergic contact dermatitis.Dermatologists emphasize that less is more for younger skin. For pre-teens with healthy skin, a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and a daily sunscreen are sufficient. For teenagers dealing with acne, experts recommend a simple, targeted routine:Wash the face twice daily with a cleanser formulated for oily skin.Avoid heavy, oil-based makeup and ensure it is entirely removed every night.Apply a targeted acne treatment in the evening, followed by a light moisturizer and sunscreen the next morning.Young people should avoid mixing multiple strong products or trying unverified social media home remedies, which often worsen inflammation. If skin becomes irritated, wash the product off immediately and apply a soothing cream containing panthenol; seek medical advice if symptoms persist.
