European universities are quietly rolling out powerful AI algorithms to predict our academic failure before we even sit for exams. Utilizing advanced tools like XGBoost and cloud scaling, tech platforms are tracking our every digital footprint to forecast our GPAs in real time. But as students, we are shouting a warning: these cold, automated algorithms are completely forgetting the human being behind the screen.
When cloud environments decide our potential based on data points, education becomes a clinical tracking system rather than a space for growth. We are demanding a massive shift toward “people at the center of decision-making.” If these digital applications do not provide transparent explanations of their forecasts, they will only fuel anxiety and cause students to drop out entirely. We deserve transparent, supportive tools that help us stay in school and improve our education—not invisible algorithms scoring our future from the shadows. Automated tracking cannot replace real, human academic support.
