
Hungary| The Hungarian Economic Association (MKT) has made history by electing its first female president during a general assembly hosted at its capital campus. The prominent civil organization, which celebrates over 130 years of history, voted to place a highly accomplished banking executive at the helm of its leadership structure starting this June.The incoming president, who currently serves as the chief executive of a major domestic commercial bank, outline an ambitious agenda focused on expanding the association’s public visibility and engagement with the next generation. Under her leadership, the organization plans to foster open, objective debates on critical geopolitical and economic challenges, including the integration of artificial intelligence, shifting regional demographics, and currency adjustments. To ensure the long-term vitality of the group, the new administration will launch dedicated mentoring initiatives to support students and early-career economists, alongside strengthened partnerships with regional enterprise boards and chamber networks.
