Ireland | Trinity College Dublin has partnered with a local primary school to deliver the Clean Air Living Lab, a six month project focused on monitoring and understanding air quality in Dublin. Researchers, students, and community members measured air quality across 22 locations on campus and at South City Community National School. The project gave school students hands on experience with air quality monitoring and data analysis while helping researchers identify pollution hotspots. Findings showed significant differences in nitrogen dioxide levels across nearby campus locations, highlighting the impact of traffic and urban conditions on air quality. The initiative supports Trinity’s broader sustainability goals, including efforts to improve cycling infrastructure, expand green spaces, and reduce vehicle emissions on and around campus.
