Czech Republic | Palacký University Olomouc has launched a comprehensive clinical research project aimed at developing a rapid, scientifically validated diagnostic method to identify chronic insomnia during routine medical examinations. Funded by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, the initiative brings together psychologists and clinical practitioners from the university, the TES Clinic, and the General University Hospital in Prague to address the societal and economic burdens of sleep deprivation. Recognizing that modern lifestyle shifts—including rapid digitization and altering work patterns—have drastically changed sleep habits over the past few decades, researchers are gathering extensive contemporary data to update medical screening baselines. The project is currently calling for adult volunteers nationwide to complete online assessments, seeking both symptomatic individuals and healthy participants to establish an accurate control group.
