Czech Republic | An emerging painter from a prominent faculty of fine arts has achieved top honors at a prestigious global science fiction and fantasy talent competition in the United States. The international contest, which has discovered rising speculative writers and artists for over four decades, selects only twelve illustrators globally each year from a highly competitive international pool of emerging talent.The student secured the competition’s ultimate artistic accolade—the Golden Brush Award—during a formal gala ceremony held at a historic Hollywood venue in Los Angeles. The winning entry featured a lyrical narrative illustration depicting a baker caring for an imprisoned dragon, a piece developed during an intensive industrial workshop accompanying the event. The comprehensive prize package included a week-long professional development seminar where the winning finalists received individual portfolio critiques, studio tours, and masterclasses led by elite entertainment industry professionals to help launch their international commercial art careers.
