Portugal | A prominent interdisciplinary research institute has officially inaugurated a year-long celebration to mark its 25th anniversary of promoting cross-disciplinary education and collaborative science. The milestone event brought together faculty leaders, academic councils, and researchers to reflect on twenty-five years of bridging diverse scientific fields to create impactful, multi-disciplinary knowledge.The opening ceremony included the symbolic planting of trees and the dedication of a new outdoor community space, uniquely constructed from timber salvaged after a major regional storm. Managing nine doctoral programs and approximately 300 active PhD candidates, the institute serves as a vital hub for advanced training and research synergy. The anniversary campaign will run through May 2027, featuring a series of academic forums and community events designed to engage the broader scientific network and further stimulate collaborative innovation across traditional academic boundaries.
