Stockholm University has announced a new WISE Research Master’s Thesis programme offering up to 12 stipends for master’s students interested in pursuing doctoral studies in materials science for sustainability.The initiative, part of the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE), provides selected students with financial support of 75,000 SEK while encouraging early-stage research experience in sustainable materials.The programme is designed for students in natural sciences and engineering, particularly those enrolled in chemistry and physics-related master’s degrees. Participants will conduct thesis work aligned with the WISE research framework and may also take advanced courses and engage in research activities relevant to future doctoral studies.Applications for the 2026–2027 cycle are open until 15 May 2026, with selection based on academic qualifications and the relevance of the proposed research project to sustainability-focused materials science.
