
Hungary | University of Lisbon marked World Creativity and Innovation Day by highlighting its achievements in entrepreneurship and research-driven innovation.According to the ULisboa Startup Impact Report 2025, the university is the most entrepreneurial institution in Portugal, with over 1,000 startups created by students, researchers, and alumni operating in more than 40 countries. Several major Portuguese unicorn companies are also linked to the university’s academic ecosystem.Since 2024, university-related startups have attracted over €850 million in venture capital and created tens of thousands of jobs worldwide. The institution also leads in academic spinouts across key sectors such as health, climate tech, spacetech, and software innovation.The university further emphasizes diversity in entrepreneurship, with a growing number of startups founded by women, reinforcing its role as a major European innovation hub.
